The Merimbula Fun Run is held annually on the last Sunday of May attracting both recreational and professional runners and walkers locally and across Australia. Events include 10km Run and 5km Run|Walk.
Starting and Finishing at Ford Oval, Ocean Drive the 10km and 5km courses follow a scenic loop showcasing the magical coastal town of Merimbula.
The event has a family carnival atmosphere with a fun group warm-up, race commentary, goodie bags for all registered finishers, presentations for individual and team 5km and 10km winners, lucky prize and raffle draws, kids entertainment and sponsor and hospitality stalls.
To ensure correct distances, the organisers have had both courses officially measured for IAAF certification. Registered runners and walkers are issued with timing chips and bibs and all finishers get an official time from the electronic timing system. Official results are available on the day at the results kiosk and post-event online.
Event proceeds are used to benefit local community projects with the aim of further enhancing our community spirit and culture.
